Allan has over 35 years' experience, working mainly in the health sector. He has been the lead researcher/evaluator on many projects, including the very successful 'Like Minds, Like Mine' programme and National Depression Initiative (featuring Sir John Kirwan). Other work has included: the roll out of the meningococcal B immunisation programme, 'Let's Beat Diabetes', health promoting schools, youth sexuality, primary health care strategy, breast and cervical screening, health workforce, and tobacco control. He has also worked for 10 years in a senior research position at the University of Auckland, during which time he completed his doctorate and had over 20 papers published in refereed journals.
As a valued HealthTRx team member, Allan also brings programme planning experience. His previous work includes: scoping the development of the National Depression Initiative; scoping the development of MH101 mental health literacy programme, development of a programme logic model for 'Like Minds, Like Mine'; and target audience literature reviews for the National Depression Initiative.
